Michael Kupka’s artistic talent emerged during his early childhood.  Mike honed his craft at duCret School of Art in Plainfield, NJ. There he studied under the famed illustrator, Peter Caras.  Caras introduced Mike to the works of Norman Rockwell, Robert McGinnis, and James Bama to name a few. These renowned influences developed Kupka’s signature style of realism and broadening his talents even further.

After years of freelance work, surreptitiously Mike’s portrait of Ozzy Osbourne caught the eye of a representative of the Disney Company. He was licensed by Disney to create original artwork, which was used to produce limited edition canvas prints of their beloved characters and movies. Mike broke into the sports art field by building a portfolio filled with athletic icons as Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Joe Montana and Secretariat.  Starting up his own companies, Kupka obtained licenses for the NHL and MLB, and created artwork under their licenses. He also worked with Thurman Munson, Lou Gehrig and Jackie Robinson’s estates. Other companies and licensees he produced artwork for are Lucas Films, Marvel, Warner Brothers,Topps, NFL and NBA to name a few.
